Job summary

PSE | Engineers & Consultants in Wisconsin is seeking a Project Manager – Renewable Energy to lead strategic energy projects from origination to closeout. You will align multi-discipline teams, manage schedules and budgets, and maintain strong client relations across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

The role requires a strong engineering foundation, hands-on project delivery, and knowledge of solar PV, BESS, microgrids, and grid interconnection.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or Renewable Energy.
  • 8+ years in PM, engineering, or project delivery in energy/renewables.
  • Experience managing engineering design projects; solar/BESS/microgrids preferred.
  • Experience in consulting/utility/developer/EPC environment preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management for renewable energy projects through full lifecycle.
  • Coordinate engineering and design across electrical, civil, and structural disciplines.
  • Serve as primary client contact ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate internal and external teams including engineers, consultants, contractors.
  • Develop and manage schedules, budgets, risk registers, and resource plans.
  • Support procurement activities including RFPs, bid evaluations, and coordination.
  • Provide technical oversight on solar PV, BESS, microgrids, and interconnection.
  • Understand construction sequencing and field coordination requirements.

We’re seeking a Project Manager – Renewable Energy to lead strategic energy projects from early-stage origination and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and project closeout. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead project management for strategic renewable energy projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from origination and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Manage engineering and design projects, coordinating electrical, civil, and structural disciplines to deliver successful, turnkey solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, alignment on expectations, and a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate internal and external teams, including engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and resource plans to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Apply project management tools, methodologies, and best practices to effectively manage scope, cost, schedule, resources, and risk.
  • Support procurement and contracting activities, including RFP development, bid evaluations, and contractor coordination.
  • Provide technical project oversight and apply knowledge of renewable energy systems, including solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), microgrids, and related energy infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with construction teams and understand construction sequencing, constructability, and field coordination requirements.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in project management, engineering, or project delivery within the energy, infrastructure, or renewable energy industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing engineering design projects and/or energy infrastructure projects; experience with solar, BESS, or microgrids is preferred.
  • Experience working in a consulting, utility, developer, or EPC environment is highly preferred.
  • PMP certification is preferred but not required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of project management principles, tools, and methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and risk management.
  • Technical understanding of renewable energy systems and infrastructure, including solar PV, BESS, microgrids, and grid interconnection.
  • Working knowledge of construction processes, sequencing, constructability, and coordination for infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, contractors, and internal teams.

Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $125,262 - $160,742 annually.

This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for {enter minimum relevant years of exp. to max relevant years of exp}. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
