Job summary

Commercial Metals LTD is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead large-scale project execution from proposal through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, safety, and profitability across sites, with a focus on cost control and client relations.

The role may be performed remotely with Hawaii-hours availability and travel as needed; strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience managing large construction projects.
• Rebar, concrete, and general contracting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review project proposal/plan to determine time frame, and procedures.
• Ensure direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects from initial budget through project closeout, managing costs, and maximizing profitability.
• Resolve daily issues to ensure a timely, safe, and profitable project.
• Resolve all conflicts and misunderstandings in the contract & specification.
• Review constructability constraints by identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare project reports for management and customers.
• Prepare and collect change orders and ensure work is delegated appropriately.
• QC Plan when requested, including specific responsibilities and procedures.
• Negotiate pricing as needed and provide creative solutions to solve problems, ensuring project is completed efficiently and effectively.
• Travel safely to and from project sites as needed.
• Act as a liaison between customer and internal departments including sales, detailing, operations, superintendents, shop, etc.
• Provide 3 week look ahead schedules - provided weekly.

This position may be performed remotely. The successfull candidate must be available to work during Hawaii's business hours and be willing to travel as needed.

What You'll Need

• Minimum 5 years experience with managing large construction projects
• Rebar, concrete, and general contracting experience, highly preferred
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
• Solid understanding of project costs/cost control with strong financial and business acumen
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
• Strong scheduling, planning, organizing, problem solving, time managing, and prioritizing work skills
• Proficient in MS Office programs - Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Ability to review and interpret contract documents for advanced projects

Your Education

• Bachelor's Degree in one of the following: Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related project management experience, preferred
