Job summary

Musselman & Hall Contractors is seeking a Project Manager to own projects end-to-end, ensuring safety, efficiency, profitability, and high-quality outcomes. This role requires coordinating manpower, subcontractors, materials, and schedules to meet company standards.

You will actively manage project budgets, change orders, billings, and collections, while serving as the main point of contact for clients and General Contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in estimating and project management for industrial/commercial construction.
• Experience managing railroad projects and knowledge of other divisions (concrete, asphalt).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite and project management software (HubSpot, Vista).

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Project Ownership: primary owner for all project phases from handoff to close-out, coordinating manpower, subcontractors, materials, and schedules.
• Financial Performance & Administration: manage project budgets, cost reports, variances, change orders, billings, and collections to maximize profitability.
• Stakeholder Communication: main contact for clients and General Contractors; coordinate between Field Operations, Pre-Construction, Admin to ensure alignment.
• Business Growth & Safety Leadership: identify new work opportunities within assigned accounts and enforce safety policies to maintain a zero-incident environment.

The Project Manager serves as the job owner, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably, and meet the high standards of quality we are known for.

• End-to-End Project Ownership: Serve as the primary "job owner" for all project phases, from handoff to close-out. This includes coordinating manpower, subcontractors, materials, and schedules to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the company's quality standards.
• Financial Performance & Administration: Proactively manage project budgets, cost reports, and variances. Oversee all project-related financials, including change orders, billings, collections, and administrative documentation to maximize profitability.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients and General Contractors. Facilitate timely updates and seamless coordination between internal departments (Field Operations, Pre-Construction, Admin) to ensure project alignment.
• Business Growth & Safety Leadership: Identify and track new work opportunities within assigned accounts to drive revenue. Strictly enforce M&H policies and safety protocols to ensure a zero-incident environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of industrial/commercial construction with at least 3 years of experience in estimating and project management. Ability to manage Railroad projects, as well as gain knowledge in other divisions (concrete and asphalt) of Musselman & Hall.
• Business Acumen: Proficiency in project financials (production rates, man-hours, budgeting) and negotiation.
• Operational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office/Google Suite and specialized project management software (e.g., HubSpot, Vista).

Experience & Education

• 3 or more years of relevant experience, including estimating and managing industrial and/or commercial construction projects, is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of experience applicable in lieu of a degree
• Proficiency in construction and project management software, Microsoft Office, and/or Google Suite is required
