The role offers a competitive salary, ranging from $79,830.40 to $119,745.60 (top of grade), with an expected starting pay anticipated to be $79,830.40 to $99,798.40 based on experience and qualifications.
As Project Manager, you will oversee engineering, surveying, and professional firms for design projects, negotiate and execute contracts, and manage construction contractors. Reviewing plans, specifications, and cost estimates will be a routine part of your work, as will preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring timely project delivery. You'll be responsible for maintaining documentation, preparing council agenda items, purchase order requests, and coordinating bidding processes alongside the Purchasing Agent. Additional duties include applying for external funds, reviewing shop drawings and test reports, acquiring easements and rights-of-way, preparing Requests for Qualifications, processing invoices, meeting with residents, completing in-house design plans, coordinating utility relocations, and making presentations to elected officials and public groups.
Ideal candidates possess a strong knowledge of public works operations, civil engineering, and construction management, with proven experience in transportation infrastructure, utilities, and facilities projects. Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations is essential, as is proficiency in computer applications and project management tools. You should be able to handle complex projects, prepare technical documents, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
To qualify, you must hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering and have one to three years of related experience, along with a valid Missouri driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
