Job description

The Project Manager supports and leads the planning, execution, financial control, scheduling, and governance of engineering and construction projects. Depending on experience level, the role progresses from assisting with individual project controls and phase-gate preparation to independently managing complex projects, project portfolios, and department-wide project delivery. The position partners with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to keep work aligned with scope, schedule, cost, deliverables, and project economics.

NOTE: Position will be filled at a level commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Target Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, analyze, and report project financials, progressing from supporting individual projects to managing portfolio and department-level financial performance
• Create and manage project schedules and deliverables, including complex Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for individual projects and portfolios.
• Prepare for, coordinate, and lead project management phase-gate meetings.
• Evaluate project economics and communicate cost, schedule, risk, and delivery impacts to stakeholders.
• Monitor project performance, identify emerging issues, and apply critical thinking and troubleshooting to resolve problems.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources and stakeholders to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.
• For senior-level assignments, provide leadership, coaching, and instruction in project controls, scheduling, and delivery practices.
• Adapt project plans and priorities as business conditions, risks, and project requirements change.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associates degree (consideration of equivalent experience or related certifications).
• 2+ years of project management or project coordination experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to process information quickly and perform effectively in a high-paced multitask environment.
• Ability to define problems, collect accurate data, draw valid conclusions and develop solutions.
• Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
• Strong planning, organizing, scheduling, budgeting and other project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4-year college degree - B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or closely related field.
• Experience Managing Upstream and/or Midstream Oil and Gas Capital Projects.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or the ability to obtain.
• Experienced with Primavera P6.
