Job summary

The Toro Company, Perry, OK, is seeking a Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams, develop and execute project plans, and ensure budgets and scope are met. This role emphasizes strategic portfolio velocity within a multi-project environment and collaboration with stakeholders across departments.

Ideal candidates will have a background in new product development, strong problem-solving abilities, and a degree in engineering, business, or related fields.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience in the project management department or related role in new product development.
  • Successful completion of at least one new product project from project kickoff through production startup.
  • Demonstrated success with problem solving within new product development.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of SAP/ERP is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from conceptual approval through completion.
  • Create a work plan for each phase of the project with input from resource managers and project team members.
  • Develop and manage project schedules.
  • Ensure project documentation is created, meets standards, and is properly maintained according to established procedures.
  • Collaborate with other project managers to manage resources and project needs according to corporate priorities.
  • Develop and review project requirements with key stakeholders to ensure project scope is accurately defined and managed so that cost and profitability goals are met.
  • Track and report project budget.
  • Drives key and timely decisions required to meet project objectives through cooperation with other team members.
  • Address project-related conflicts and issues in a direct and effective manner.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
  • Coordinate project communication between team members and organizational stakeholders.

What Will You Do?

The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to: 1) develop and execute the project plan and maintain schedule, 2) track adherence to product cost target and project budget, and 3) ensure compliance to project scope. The overall goal is the optimization of individual projects within a complex multiple-project system, where velocity of the entire project portfolio is the priority.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage projects from conceptual approval through completion
  • Create a work plan for each phase of the project with input from resource managers and project team members
  • Develop and manage project schedules
  • Ensure project documentation is created, meets standards, and is properly maintained according to established procedures
  • Collaborate with other project managers to manage resources and project needs according to corporate priorities

  • Track and report project budget
  • Drives key and timely decisions required to meet project objectives through cooperation with other team members

  • Seeks guidance from supervisor and senior level team members related to new assignments and complex decisions
  • Meet or exceed typical expectations for leadership, productivity, and safety

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Keen problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Basic understanding of critical chain methodology
  • Fundamental understanding of TTC 1PDS for new product development
  • Above average competency to identify and resolve conflict
  • Ability to assess constraints and elevate when necessary
  • High level of emotional intelligence with a focus on teamwork and collaboration
What Do You Need?

In-depth understanding of the new product development process and two years’ experience in the project management department or related role in new product development Successful completion of at least one new product project from project kickoff through production startup Demonstrated success with problem solving within new product development A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience) Proficient with Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Microsoft Project is a plus Experience with SAP or other ERP system is beneficial

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office most of the time, plant or outdoor environment as needed and in some instances could exceed eight hours per day. Plant and outdoor conditions include: temperature and humidity extremes, dirt and noise: physical hazards such as moving machinery, sharp objects, flying debris, and manufacturing equipment: hazardous materials such as gasoline, diesel fuel, solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases and fluids. Regular, continuous use of a personal computer Occasional travel Onsite in Perry, OK with flexibility to work remotely on occasion Rapidly changing workload and priorities

A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $78,600 - $120,000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
