Job summary

Ulteig is seeking a Project Manager - NERC Compliance in our Energy Solutions Department to lead and grow our NERC Compliance service offerings. You will oversee resources, coordinate with internal teams and clients, and manage the full lifecycle from proposal through delivery.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical coordination, and strategic collaboration with clients, with opportunities for career growth and development in a dynamic energy solutions environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent.
  • Exposure/knowledge of power system modeling tools (PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF) is a plus.
  • Must be analytical, self-motivated, and able to work under high pressure with a positive attitude.
  • Strong industry knowledge and ability to collaborate with staff, management and clients.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Manages resources for NERC Compliance scopes.
  • Review RFPs for NERC Compliance scope and determine appropriate scope/fee for deliverables.
  • Manage resourcing for NERC Compliance deliverables.
  • Set up and lead kick-off meetings for NERC Compliance with internal resources.
  • Set up and lead regular meetings with external clients to manage NERC Compliance scope.
  • Lead transition from project design deliverables to NERC Compliance deliverables.
  • Attend internal and external project calls to support technical discussions.
  • Set up a schedule for NERC Compliance deliverables and communicate with customers and internal resources.
  • Set up initial RFIs and ensure resources update and stay on schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Attend customer meetings and discuss NERC Compliance services Ulteig offers.
  • Track comments and responses from customers and internal resources.
  • Track evolving NERC Compliance standards and advise on impact to deliverables and projects.
  • Ensure Quality Check process is followed and PE reviews conducted.
  • Drive conversations about change orders, budgets, and delays.
  • Additional duties may include special projects or new initiatives.

What You’ll Do
  • Manages resources for NERC Compliance scopes.
  • Review Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the NERC Compliance scope, appropriate scope/fee for NERC Compliance deliverables for the proposal.
  • Manage resourcing for NERC Compliance deliverables.
  • Set up and lead kick-off meetings for NERC Compliance scope with internal technical resources.
  • Set up and lead regular meetings with external client to manage NERC Compliance scope.
  • Lead transition from project design deliverables to NERC Compliance deliverables.
  • Attend internal and external project calls to support technical discussions.
  • Set up a schedule for NERC Compliance deliverables, continue to communicate and update with customer and internal resources.
  • Set up an initial Request for Information (RFI) and ensure that technical resources are updating. accordingly and continue to manage them with the client as well as internal resources.
  • Ensure that internal resources are staying on schedule and that clients are providing information on time so deadlines can be met.
  • Attend potential customer meetings and speak to NERC Compliance services that Ulteig offers.
  • Track comments received from customers and responses from internal resources.
  • Track evolving NERC Compliance standards and advise on how it affects Ulteig deliverables and clients’ projects.
  • Ensure that the Quality Check process is followed and that proper PE reviews are conducted.
  • Drive proactive conversations about change orders, budgets, and project delays, etc.
  • Additional duties may include tasks beyond what is listed, such as special projects, assisting. colleagues, or new initiatives. A willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support team efforts enhances collaboration and growth opportunities.
What We Expect From You
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent.
  • Some exposure/knowledge of power system modeling tools (PSSE, PSCAD, PSLF), substation protection, and renewables is a plus.
  • Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative attitude.
  • Strong industry knowledge.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and external clients.
  • High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations and highly responsive, internally and externally.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Displays a high level of initiative and explores new opportunities while understanding the risk to the organization.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and additional software knowledge depending on specialty.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $108,000-$146,000
  • Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary includes your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
