Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager for the Power Lifeline Sector to lead large, multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initiation through close-out.

You will manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder engagement with a focus on delivering complex projects on time and within contract requirements. As a senior leader, you will coordinate matrixed teams, run project meetings, and provide regular client updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with significant engineering project experience preferred.
  • PE, PMP, CCM or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software; scheduling and cost planning expertise.
  • US work authorization required.

Job description

Ulteig is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Project Manager for the Power Lifeline Sector. As leader of the project team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of engineering projects in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with requirements and standards as set forth in the project contract(s) for our most complex and large-scale projects. Your advanced technical knowledge and extensive project management experience will be pivotal in guiding projects to successful completion.

What You’ll Do
Project Management
  • Lead large, multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initiation through close-out for the Power Lifeline Sector
  • Manage all aspects of project execution, including scope, stakeholder management, schedule, budget, and quality
  • Critical coordination of highly matrixed project execution teams to ensure resources are focused on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedule
  • Lead project meetings, including progress reviews and problem-solving sessions
  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
  • Ensure availability or seeks out adequate resources to support the project
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, including risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Proficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions andimplementrecommendations to support project scope,schedule,and cost objectives
Collaboration & Communications
  • Function as the key project representative for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that technical aspects of the project are properly managed
  • Lead overall project, coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation, and negotiation
  • Communicate with Senior Leadership, clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Management Team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracked to plan
  • Ensure that project timelines are maintained and milestones are met
  • Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to keep projects on schedule, along with keeping the project plan up-to-date
  • Monitor and control project budgets to prevent overspending
  • Keep track of all financial transactions related to the project
  • Monitor and control project costs
Project Reporting & Compliance
  • Monitor ongoing project health and track key metrics
  • Adhere to Ulteig governance policies and procedures for project success
  • Apply a deep understanding of contract strategy with both prime and client agreements to ensure alignment and successful project execution
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ensure that best practices are shared and implemented effectively across projects and teams.
  • Deeply understands business objectives and stakeholder needs
  • Provide training and support to all project team members to enhance their skills and knowledge

What We Expect from You
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of project management experience, with significant experience in engineering projects, power industry experience preferred
  • Technical engineering knowledge, with the ability to understand and coordinate solutions for complex engineering challenges required
  • PE, PMP, CCM or equivalent certification preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams, including project and/or program management, services, engineering, operations, and procurement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Planview Adaptive Work), with advanced understanding and experience of scheduling and cost planning
  • Microsoft Dynamics (Finance & Operations) experience preferred
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
  • Must have permanent work authorization to work in the US

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $130,400 - $176,500
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
