Job summary

The Thomas J. Dyer Company in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Project Manager to lead mechanical and plumbing projects from inception through completion.

The role emphasizes coordinating field operations, scheduling, budgeting and ensuring client satisfaction while maintaining safety standards. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of project management experience, a relevant degree, and strong computer and pipe systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a Project Manager
• Degree in Construction Management, Business Management or Engineering preferred
• Must have comprehensive computer skills
• Strong Mechanical and Process Pipe Systems knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead staffing and set up project manpower within the Weekly Manpower Sheet and discuss variances in operations meetings
• Support setup and update of the Weekly Labor Productivity Sheet
• Address scheduling issues with Construction Manager/Owner; provide corrective actions and cost implications
• Distribute project schedule to internal personnel, subcontractors and vendors and track milestones
• Review weekly labor productivity trends and implement corrective actions
• Provide clear direction to coordinators, detailers, subcontractors, and vendors
• Coordinate customer communications; manage change orders and ensure positive relationships
• Contribute to project scheduling; attend scheduling meetings to maintain an efficient plan
• Work with accounting to ensure billed costs are accurate and applied to the correct project/phase/category
• Develop detailed budget for the project; negotiate cash flow schedule with customer
• Ensure monthly billing is timely and accurate; track change orders
• Purchase/procure equipment, materials, and subcontractors per Purchasing SOP
• Manage document control to ensure current information is distributed timely
• Assist Pre-Construction with buying equipment, materials and subcontractors
• Support project schedule and field/shop plans with purchasing actions
• Ensure safety procedures and training are followed for all personnel
• Review projects regularly for safety issues and address them promptly
• Develop an phased manpower budget and efficient plan for scope of work
