RL Talent Partners is seeking an experienced Mechanical Insulation Project Manager for our Indianapolis, IN area client. This hands-on role blends project management, estimating, and business development to drive profitable outcomes.

You will build relationships with mechanical and general contractors, owners, and industry contacts, while overseeing projects from bid through closeout and coordinating with field teams to keep work moving.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical insulation.
• Proven experience estimating and bidding mechanical insulation projects.
• Experience managing commercial/industrial construction projects from estimate to completion.
• Demonstrated success developing customer relationships and generating new business.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Strong understanding of project financials, labor productivity, scheduling, and job cost control.
• Experience coordinating with field teams, contractors, and customers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with mechanical contractors, general contractors, owners, and key industry contacts.
• Grow existing and new accounts throughout Central Indiana and surrounding region.
• Identify opportunities early and develop strategies to win profitable work.
• Meet with customers through site visits and industry events; manage ongoing relationships.
• Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for mechanical insulation scopes.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, and bid submissions.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and participate in project pursuit strategies.
• Manage projects from award through closeout; coordinate with branch leadership and field teams.
• Track labor productivity, budgets, revenue, and project margins.
• Manage change orders, billing coordination, forecasting, and project reporting.
• Support material procurement and project schedules.
• Ensure projects are executed safely, profitably, and aligned with client expectations.

Our client, a well-established mechanical insulation contractor, is looking for an experienced Mechanical Insulation Project Manager to join their Indianapolis, Indiana branch.

This is a high-visibility, hands-on role that brings together project management, estimating, and business development. You'll work directly with customers, identify new opportunities, develop estimates and proposals, and take projects from the initial bid through successful completion.

You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with mechanical contractors, general contractors, owners, and other key industry contacts throughout the greater Indianapolis market. This is not a desk-only position—you'll be out meeting with customers, visiting jobsites, reviewing plans, developing estimates, and working closely with field teams to keep projects moving.

The work is varied, with projects ranging from maintenance and retrofit work to larger commercial and industrial mechanical insulation installations. You'll have a direct impact on both project success and the continued growth of the Indianapolis branch, while building relationships and a customer base you can take ownership of.

Requirements
