Job summary

Jobot is seeking an ambitious Project Manager to oversee HVAC and mechanical system projects in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. You will coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of chillers, boilers, and process piping.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering/Construction Management background with 5+ years of project leadership, strong BIM knowledge, and proven budgeting and scheduling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing mechanical or HVAC construction projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including thermal storage, cogeneration, and variable air volume systems.
• Proficiency in project management software and BIM tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of mechanical construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Coordinate with design teams and field staff to ensure alignment with project goals and technical specifications.
• Oversee scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and subcontractor management.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and quality expectations.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Implement design-build and design-assist delivery methods to optimize cost and schedule performance.
• Support innovation through the use of technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM).

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of HVAC and mechanical system projects, including chillers, boilers, custom fabrication, and process piping. You’ll work closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
