Southland Industries is seeking a project leader to manage smaller projects or portions of larger initiatives in the Houston, TX area. You will lead a team, drive schedule adherence, and deliver status updates to clients and leadership.

The role requires strong negotiation, communication, and financial acumen, plus hands-on project management and subcontractor oversight. Collaborative environment with employee ownership and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience.
• Proven ability to manage small teams.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Strong financial acumen.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors.
• Strong computer skills, including CADD, ERP and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develops client relationships by providing project status updates to client and leadership.
• Manages budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc. for project.
• Participates in project meetings with internal departments.
• Partners with stakeholders to ensure scope and direction of project is on schedule.
• Develops budget analysis reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders and other reports as necessary.
• Delegates work and serves as mentor to Project Engineers. Provides coaching and performance feedback as necessary.
