Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Registered Professional Surveyor (P.S.) in Ohio; additional states preferred.
• Minimum 6+ years of progressive surveying experience with project management responsibilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads.
• Strong knowledge of boundary law, title review, ALTA standards, and construction layout.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and staff assignments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the responsible professional for the successful completion of assigned survey projects or survey components of engineering projects.
• Develop and monitor project schedules to align with internal and external deadlines.
• Monitor project performance, including revenue, billings, budgets, and accounts receivable.
• Track project scope and communicate with the Group Leader and Office Team Leader on changes or contract modifications.
• Maintain accurate project files, documentation, and records.
• Assist leadership with fee proposals and project budgets.
• Provide technical mentorship for Project Surveyors, Staff Surveyors, and Technicians.
• Coordinate with Field Team Leader and Crew Chiefs for safe, efficient field operations.
• Delegate tasks to staff based on skills and availability.
• Perform or assist with boundary research, deeds, plats, and easements.
• Oversee boundary resolutions, including title review and easement plotting.
• Mentor Staff Surveyors in boundary determination; sign off on final resolution.
• Write legal descriptions and closure reports; verify accuracy.
• Prepare or oversee deliverables such as ALTA surveys, right-of-way plans, boundary plats, easement exhibits, and subdivision plats.
• Review deliverables and basemaps for completeness and accuracy.
• Submit deliverables to clients, contractors, and government agencies.
• Collaborate with leadership on hiring needs and capacity planning.
• Provide performance feedback and development input for staff.
• Monitor staff development and advancement opportunities.
• Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads.
• Communicate effectively with clients and teams.
