Job summary

A prominent engineering firm in Florida is seeking a Project Manager for Land Development to lead diverse projects from concept to construction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (8–15+ years) in land development engineering, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and strong leadership and client relationship skills. Qualifications

  • 8–15 years of experience in land development engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Proven experience managing site development projects and client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage land development projects for Municipal clients across Florida.
  • Oversee site design including grading, drainage, stormwater management.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building strong relationships.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building and maintaining relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, reports, calculations, and specs for quality and compliance.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Collaborate with planning, environmental, transportation, and surveying teams.
  • Identify risks and develop cost-effective solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure all designs meet regulations and CPH standards.

We’re expanding our Land Development team in Tampa and looking for a Project Manager who’s ready to take ownership of meaningful projects and play a key role in shaping communities across Florida.

In this role, you’ll lead diverse land development projects—from initial concept and due diligence through permitting and construction—while partnering closely with clients, municipalities, and internal teams. This is a high-visibility position offering leadership responsibility, client interaction, and a clear path for growth.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and manage land development projects for Municipal clients across Florida
  • Oversee site design including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway design.
  • Navigate and coordinate entitlement and permitting processes with local agencies and municipalities.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building and maintaining strong relationships while identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, technical reports, calculations, and specifications to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including planning, environmental, transportation, and surveying.
  • Proactively identify risks and develop practical, cost-effective solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure all designs meet local, state, and federal regulations as well as CPH’s high-quality standards.
What You'll Bring:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 8–15+ years of experience in land development engineering.
  • Proven experience managing site development projects and client relationships.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain quickly) strongly preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience with site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with local permitting processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with project management tools (Deltek Vision, Smartsheet, or similar) is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines.
