Job summary

InSite Real Estate seeks a junior Project Manager to join its Project Development Group in Oak Brook, IL. You will assist with on-site plans, budgets, and schedules for potential developments, contributing to due diligence and permitting.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in civil engineering, land planning, or architecture and up to 3 years of site development experience, with AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency. We offer competitive benefits and clear growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, land planning, or architecture is required.
• 0–3 years of civil engineering, site planning, and land development experience preferred.
• Knowledge of site development processes including entitlements and permits.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, and MS Project is preferred; Visio, SiteOps, SketchUp, and Yardi are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate with project principals to plan, budget, and schedule for new developments.
• Assist with site investigations and documenting pre-construction conditions.
• Identify potential issues that may incur costs and address them in planning.
• Maintain schedules, due diligence, and document management for the inspection process.
• Review project documents including construction plans, specifications, and municipal codes.
• Familiarity with permitting and entitlements.

PrimaryResponsibilities

• ParticipatewiththeProjectPrincipal,ManagingDirector–Retail,andDirectorofConstructiononthesiteplan,budgetmodel,andscheduleforpotentialnewdevelopments.
• Assistwithsiteinvestigationsdocumentingpre-constructionconditions.
• Identifyanypotentialissuesthatmayincuradditionalprojectcoststoovercome(e.g.,grading,stormwaterqualityorquantitycontrol,wetlands,floodplains,easements,access,utilities,entitlements).
• Maintaincriticaldates,schedule,anddocumentmanagementtotracktheduediligence/inspectionprocess.
• Reviewandanalyzeprojectdocumentsincludingconstructionplansandspecifications,duediligencedocuments,utilityagreements,andmunicipalcode.
• Familiaritywithpermittingandentitlement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, land planning, or architecture required.
• Qualifiedcandidateswithouttherelevantexperiencewillhavetheopportunityfortrainingandpracticallearning.
• 0to3yearsofprogressivelyresponsibleexperienceincivilengineering,siteplanning,andlanddevelopmentpreferred.
• Knowledgeofsiteplanning,siteengineering,andstormwaterdesignandmanagement.
• Knowledgeofsitedevelopment(i.e.conceptualsiteplanning,entitlements,duediligence,engineering).
• ProficiencyinAutoCAD,MSOffice,andMSProjectispreferred.WorkingknowledgeofMSVisio,SiteOps,SketchUp,andYardiisaplus.
