Job summary

VCC Construction in Irvine, CA is seeking a Project Manager to own the build process and drive results on commercial projects. You will manage bids, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure contract requirements are met while maintaining schedules and budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field and 3+ years of PM experience. Strong organization and communication skills are essential, with proximity to Irvine preferred.

• Negotiate contract scope and value with bidders and administer subcontracts.
• Process subcontractor change orders and amendments; advise scheduling of contractual rights.
• Compile data for estimates and maintain subcontractor communications; lead project meetings.
• Play an active role with project scheduling and act as liaison among subcontractors, clients and owners.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Reviews pricing, bids and confirms accuracy of material, equipment, and production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure completeness and validity.


• Prepares bids for distribution to market. Includes drawings, specifications, test reports, and other exhibits that may be required.


• Qualify subcontractors prior to award.


• Reviews bids from subcontractors for conformity to contract requirements and recommends acceptable bids.


• Negotiates contract scope and value with bidder.


• Recommends awards and administers subcontracts.


• Processes subcontractor change orders.


• Requests or approves amendments to or extensions of contracts.


• Advises scheduling of contractual rights and obligations.


• Compiles data for preparing estimates.


• Reviews all correspondence concerning subcontractors and responds as necessary.


• Establishes and maintains contact with subcontractors to ensure the smooth working of the contract awarding process.


• Act as liaison between company and subcontractors, clients and owners.


• Act as liaison with accounting on subcontractor payments.


• Conduct/lead project meetings.


• Play an active role with project scheduling.


• Other duties as assigned.
