Own the Build. Drive Results.

VCC is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead hospitality projects from bid through completion.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and execution of large-scale, ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through close-out. This role oversees all contractual, financial, scheduling, and team performance aspects of assigned projects, including market-rate and garden-style apartments, midrise and high-rise developments, affordable housing, senior living, and student housing.

The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary business leader for the project—ensuring contract compliance, financial performance, risk mitigation, client satisfaction, and team development. This position is accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and owner expectations. This is a safety sensitive position.

VCC is a nationally recognized, debt-free general contractor with projects in all 50 states and a history of ENR Top 100 rankings. Our Project Managers ensure all contract requirements and paperwork are in order and provide the knowledge, skills and experience working with subcontractors to ensure projects run smoothly.

If you take ownership, lead from the front, and hold high standards — we want to connect.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Contract Administration
  • Implement and manage all contract terms and conditions in accordance with company systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee bidding processes, preparation and execution of subcontract agreements, and compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to submittal processes, RFI management, and project close-out procedures.
  • Review and ensure comprehensive, accurate, and competitive proposals are submitted to clients.
  • Review, negotiate, and approve subcontract agreements, amendments, and extensions.
  • Negotiate scope and contract values with subcontractors and bidders.
  • Ensure all contractual rights and obligations are protected and properly executed.
Cost Management & Financial Oversight
  • Lead overall project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and cash flow management.
  • Oversee cost estimating, cost reporting, pay applications, change orders, and financial projections.
  • Review and approve subcontractor change orders and pay applications.
  • Compile financial data from Project Managers to develop and maintain accurate project budgets.
  • Monitor project status relative to budget and proactively implement corrective measures when needed.
  • Review estimate takeoffs for completeness and comprehensive scope coverage.
  • Provide approval to accounting for release of subcontractor payments.
Schedule & Execution Management
  • Provide strategic oversight of project schedules and ensure compliance with contractual milestones.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to maintain schedule integrity and resolve delays.
  • Monitor progress across all phases of construction to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Anticipate risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect schedule and budget performance.
Client Relations & Business Leadership
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships based on trust, communication, and performance.
  • Serve as primary liaison between the company, clients, owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and long-term client partnerships.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and project teams.
  • Conduct one-on-one feedback sessions and participate in goal setting and performance development.
  • Promote accountability and adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately while maintaining strategic oversight.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering preferred
  • 10 years’ proven experience leading large-scale commercial projects from start to finish; multi-site or complex project experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success supervising and mentoring project field teams.
  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant safety certifications preferred.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, sequencing, and industry standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices; ability to drive a strong safety culture.
  • Proficiency with construction schedules, drawings, plans, specifications, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Ability to read and interpret contracts, scopes of work, and cost reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead field teams and subcontractors effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in construction technology platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and sound judgment in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
