Job summary

Translated is seeking an experienced Interpreting Project Manager to join our Core Project Management Team. In this role you will manage interpreting projects end to end, from first client request to final session, across on-site, remote, or hybrid settings and for diverse client segments.

You will be the client’s trusted advisor, recommending the right interpreting solution and ensuring timely execution within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as a Project Manager in interpreting.
• Thorough understanding of interpreting modes and how events are organized.
• Familiarity with RSI platforms and interpreting equipment; localization experience is a plus.
• Excellent English; another language (German or French) preferred.
• Strong communication skills for client-facing interactions.
• Ability to manage stress, adapt quickly, and handle heavy workloads.

Responsibilities

• Project management: oversee diverse interpreting projects from single meetings to multi-day events, ensuring timelines and quality.
• Client consulting: advise on mode, interpreters, language pairs, and equipment to form feasible plans.
• Interpreter coordination: select, brief, and coordinate interpreters and technicians, providing leadership.
• Session support: serve as client contact before, during, and after sessions, coordinating briefings and checks.
• Profit & Loss: monitor budgets and profitability while maintaining service quality.
• Process improvement: collaborate with Senior Project Managers to test and implement efficient workflows.

We are looking for an experienced Interpreting Project Manager to join our Core Project Management Team.

In this role, you will manage interpreting projects end to end, from the first client request to the final session, across a wide range of services (simultaneous, consecutive, sign language and sworn interpreting, delivered on‑site, remotely or in hybrid settings) and for diverse client segments. You will be the client's trusted advisor, recommending the right interpreting solution for each need, and their point of reference throughout the sessions, ensuring timely execution, high‑quality standards, and compliance with budget limitations.

While interpreting will be your primary focus, you may also have the opportunity to manage localization projects as team needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Project management: manage a diverse range of interpreting projects, from single meetings to multi‑day, multilingual events, ensuring high‑quality outcomes and adherence to timelines.
• Client consulting: advise clients on the most suitable interpreting solution for their needs (mode of interpreting, number of interpreters, language combinations, technical equipment and platforms), translating their requirements into a clear, feasible project plan.
• Interpreter coordination: select, brief, and coordinate our network of professional interpreters (and technicians where needed), providing leadership and support to ensure efficiency and excellence in delivery.
• Session support: act as the client's point of contact before, during, and after interpreting sessions, coordinating briefings and preparation materials, running technical checks, monitoring sessions live, and promptly solving any issue that may arise.
• Profit & Loss: oversee project budgets and profitability, managing costs to meet financial targets while maintaining service quality.
• Process improvement: Collaborate with Senior Project Managers to test and implement more efficient processes and workflows.

The position will include the possibility of working on public holidays, as well as outside standard hours when sessions require it.

For remote candidates, a training period at our HQ in Pi Campus, Rome (Italy), can be organised.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in the interpreting industry, with a minimum of 2 years as a Project Manager and a thorough understanding of the different interpreting modes and of how interpreting events are organized.
• Strong familiarity with Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI) platforms and interpreting equipment; experience with localization projects is a plus.
• Excellent proficiency in English, with an additional language such as German or French preferred.
• Strong computer and web proficiency.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in client‑facing interactions, with the ability to understand client needs and recommend the right solution.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to think and adapt quickly, particularly during live sessions.
• Strong motivation and work ethic, with effective collaborative teamwork.
• Robust ability to manage stress, excel under high pressure, and handle a substantial workload efficiently.

Our Offer

Based on a standard level of experience, the offered salary typically ranges between €24.000,00 and €44.000,00. The actual package depends on factors such as location, scope of responsibilities, and performance. Compensation generally grows quickly as experience leads to greater contributions. Exceptionally strong candidates may be offered salaries above this range to acknowledge their higher potential impact.

We offer a flexible remote work policy, combined with a requirement for periodic presence at our Rome HQ.
