We’re looking for an experienced Contract Project Manager to join a major technology transformation programme within the financial services sector.

This is a contract opportunity offering £500 – £600 per day Inside IR35, requiring 3 days per week on-site in Chester.

You’ll be working across a range of business-critical technology and infrastructure change initiatives, with a particular focus on Payments Technology, Cloud Infrastructure, ISO 20022, stakeholder management and the delivery of large-scale technology transformation projects.

The role will involve working closely with technical teams, engineering functions, business stakeholders and senior management to drive complex projects from initiation through to successful delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Leading end-to-end delivery of complex payments technology and infrastructure projects

• Managing technology transformation initiatives across payment systems and platforms

• Overseeing projects involving cloud hosting, containerisation and infrastructure modernisation

• Coordinating multiple technical and engineering workstreams to ensure successful project delivery

• Managing stakeholder relationships across technology, engineering and wider business functions

• Developing and managing project plans, timelines, budgets, risks and dependencies

• Supporting the implementation and governance of technology change initiatives

• Ensuring projects align with relevant payments regulations and industry standards, including ISO 20022

• Managing project financials, reporting and governance across complex delivery environments

• Providing regular project updates and reporting to senior stakeholders

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Strong experience delivering complex technical projects as a Project Manager within large-scale enterprise environments

• Strong technical understanding of infrastructure, particularly cloud hosting and containerisation

• Good knowledge of payments technology, payment systems and ISO 20022

• Experience working with scaled engineering teams and large-scale technology delivery processes

• Strong understanding of payments regulations and compliance requirements

• Proven experience delivering infrastructure transformation and technology change projects

• Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills

• Strong project governance, planning, financial management and risk management experience

• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams across technology, engineering and business functions

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders

• Experience within banking, real-time payments or AI-driven technology transformation would be beneficial
