Job Summary:
We are seeking a Client-Facing Project Manager with expertise in payments and FinTech to support the successful delivery of high-visibility, complex projects within a leading financial services organization. This role will be instrumental in managing client expectations, ensuring delivery milestones are met, and aligning internal teams around strategic priorities. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has proven experience delivering both modernization and new product enablement initiatives.
This is a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension, supporting a team with a deep focus on client-facing projects—particularly in ACH, FX, online bill payments, and wires—as well as internal product development initiatives. This position is available at our offices in New York City, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Lake Mary, Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Project Management: Lead client-facing projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring timelines, scope, and budget expectations are consistently met.
- Multi-Project Oversight: Manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinating across internal teams and external vendors to align on project goals and execution.
- Agile Delivery: Adapt to and support the team’s shift toward Agile methodologies; contribute to iterative planning, sprint execution, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as a liaison between technical teams, product teams, and clients to ensure alignment and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Vendor Management: Oversee external vendor deliverables and performance; ensure consistent communication and quality assurance across third-party partnerships.
- Technical Documentation: Support internal enablement efforts through strong technical writing capabilities, especially in translating API specifications and product procedures into clear documentation.
- PMO Collaboration: Contribute to a growing PMO structure; participate in knowledge-sharing and support standardization of processes across a team of 6–7 project managers.
- Product Enablement Projects: Lead internal initiatives to commercialize new features, including the development of procedures, training documentation, and go-to-market readiness.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project management experience (client-facing strongly preferred)
- Experience in FinTech, financial services, or payments industry
- Comfortable leading meetings, managing client communications, and meeting tight deadlines
- Exposure to Agile environments and iterative delivery models
- Strong technical writing experience, particularly for procedures and product documentation
- Bachelor’s degree required
- PMP certification or equivalent is a plus
Preferred Experience:
- Deep familiarity with payments ecosystems including ACH, FX, online bill pay, and wires
- Hands-on experience working with APIs and associated documentation
- Demonstrated success in client-facing project management roles
- Proven ability to juggle multiple initiatives while maintaining high-quality delivery
- Previous exposure to PMO structures and project governance best practices
- Comfort working across both technical and non-technical stakeholder group
