Job summary

Perkins Eastman seeks a Project Architect in New York to advance designs from pre-schematic through occupancy with a focus on BIM-driven solutions. The candidate will develop options and resolve design challenges for review by teammates and clients.

You will contribute to building codes compliance, green certifications, and project delivery while collaborating with engineers, owners, and builders in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree required.
  • 5+ years experience; senior living project experience preferred.
  • Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Strong knowledge of State & Local building codes and referenced standards.
  • Excellent problem solving, detail orientation, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advance design programming and technical solutions in all design phases.
  • Present options graphically for team and client consideration.
  • Develop efficient, resilient projects aligned with client goals.
  • Document designs with technical details using REVIT and related tools.
  • Lead BIM coordination meetings and clash detection processes.
  • Manage Revit models and BIM software setups across all phases.
  • Interface with Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, 3ds Max, V-Ray and other tools.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Advance design programming and technical solutions in all design phases
  • Present options through graphical and other means for team and client consideration
  • Develop innovative efficient and resilient projects aligned with client goals
  • Document designs with technical details with a range of software including REVIT
  • Rendering skills are preferred
  • Ability to guide rendering exercises is required
  • Participation in and representation of Perkins Eastman in Owner meetings
  • Apply knowledge of State & Local building codes local zoning regulations and referenced standards
  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff
  • Implement the firms BIM vision and standards to ensure consistency quality and efficiency across project processes and deliverables
  • Develop and manage project specific BIM Execution Plans BEPs ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards
  • Manage Revit models and Autodesk Construction Cloud ACC setup and oversee drawing outputs across all phases
  • Conduct clash detection and coordinate resolution processes using Navisworks
  • Lead and participate in BIM coordination meetings with clients consultants and project teams to ensure alignment on model expectations deliverables and timelines
  • Interface with tools such as Dynamo Rhino Grasshopper 3ds Max V Ray Visari and other relevant software
  • Collaborate with the firms global Design & Technology leadership to align on digital strategies standards and protocols
  • Serving as the single point of contact for all BIM related matters
  • Oversee plugin deployment software updates printing and publishing of drawing sets
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree
  • 5 years experience plus preferred senior living practice area experience
  • Experience managing multiple aspects of client team and project coordination including full documentation coordination with project consultants
  • Thorough knowledge of State & Local building codes and referenced standards
  • Able to interpret generate communicate and present design intent and manifest that in phase appropriate documentation
  • Excellent problem solving abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Possessing strong interpersonal skills working with a team that emphasizes collaboration with engineers owners and builders and working in a focused and mutually respectful office environment
  • Ability to manage multiple fast paced projects and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency with REVIT MS Word & Excel Adobe & Bluebeam is required
  • Proficiency with Rhino Navisworks and REVIT plugins is preferred
  • CPHD LEED andor WELL accreditations are a plus
  • Architectural registration is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Newforma Procore andor other construction project management software is required training available
