Job summary

Perkins Eastman is seeking a Project Manager II in NYC to advance design from pre-schematic through occupancy for a Senior Living practice. The role requires strong BIM leadership, knowledge of codes, and coordination with consultants.

A Bachelor or Master of Architecture and 5+ years in project coordination is expected. The team operates in a hybrid model with a broad toolkit across REVIT, BIM, and Cl dialogue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree
• 5+ years' experience, plus preferred senior living practice area experience
• Experience coordinating client, team and project coordination with consultants
• Thorough knowledge of State & Local building codes and referenced standards
• Ability to interpret and present design intent in phase-appropriate docs
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with engineers, owners, and builders
• Proficiency with REVIT, MS Word & Excel, Adobe, and Bluebeam
• CPHD, LEED and/or WELL accreditations are a plus
• Architectural registration is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Procore or similar PM software (training available)

The Opportunity:

Perkins Eastman has an exciting opportunity in New York. We seek a highly motivated Project Architect to with a combination of design talent and technical knowhow to collaboratively advance designs from pre-schematic through occupancy. The individual will bring an affinity for developing options and resolving solutions for consideration by teammates and clients. This person will have a working knowledge of construction techniques, building codes, green building certifications and project delivery. They will bring a passion for developing optimal solutions that meet our clients’ aspirations and challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Advance design, programming and technical solutions in all design phases.
• Present options through graphical and other means for team and client consideration.
• Develop innovative, efficient, and resilient projects aligned with client goals
• Document designs with technical details with a range of software including REVIT.
• Rendering skills are preferred. Ability to guide rendering exercises is required.
• Participation in and representation of Perkins Eastman in Owner meetings.
• Apply knowledge of State & Local building codes, local zoning regulations, and referenced standards.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
• Implement the firm’s BIM vision and standards to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across project processes and deliverables
• Develop and manage project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards
• Manage Revit models and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) setup, and oversee drawing outputs across all phases
• Conduct clash detection and coordinate resolution processes using Navisworks
• Lead and participate in BIM coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams to ensure alignment on model expectations, deliverables, and timelines
• Interface with tools such as Dynamo, Rhino, Grasshopper, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Visari, and other relevant software
• Collaborate with the firm’s global Design & Technology leadership to align on digital strategies, standards, and protocols
• Serving as the single point of contact for all BIM-related matters
• Oversee plugin deployment, software updates, printing and publishing of drawing sets

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree
• 5+ years' experience, plus preferred senior living practice area experience
• Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with project consultants
• Thorough knowledge of State & Local building codes and referenced standards.
• Able to interpret, generate, communicate and present design intent and manifest that in phase-appropriate documentation
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
• Possessing strong interpersonal skills - working with a team that emphasizes collaboration with engineers, owners, and builders and working in a focused and mutually respectful office environment
• Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects and deadlines effectively
• Proficiency with REVIT, MS Word & Excel, Adobe, & Bluebeam is required
• Proficiency with Rhino, Navisworks, and REVIT plugins is preferred
• CPHD, LEED and/or WELL accreditations are a plus
• Architectural registration is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Newforma, Procore, and/or other construction project management software is required (training available)

Salary Range: $119k to $128k

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographical work location.
