Job summary

Icon Mechanical seeks a Project Manager II to join our Project Management team at our Granite City, IL headquarters. You’ll lead mechanical construction projects from planning through closeout, ensuring standards, budgets, deadlines and communications are met.

The role requires 2–5 years PM experience in mechanical construction, a related degree, HVAC/Piping knowledge, and proficiency with project software. We offer strong compensation and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years as a Project Manager in Mechanical Construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or proven working experience in Construction Management is required.
• Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards is preferred.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Viewpoint, ProCore, and BlueBeam.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and construction practices to effectively interpret project documents and support successful project delivery.
• Familiarity with construction management software packages—overall strong computer skills is preferred.
• Working knowledge of P6 or Microsoft Project and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, organize, log and distribute Contract Documents and shop drawings/submittals to appropriate team members.
• Coordinate with Project Assistant to log all construction documents.
• Ensure jobsite safety compliance by conducting site inspections and safety logistics.
• Oversee field installation of mechanical, plumbing, and specialty systems through site visits.
• Manage subcontractor performance by defining scopes of work and schedule activities.
• Develop and manage project schedules with engineering deliverables and schedulers.
• Coordinate labor, material, and equipment resources and oversee logistics with vendors and shop personnel.
• Manage project financial performance using job cost and cash flow reporting tools.
• Oversee project accounting activities including payables/receivables and invoicing.
• Build and maintain client relationships and identify new project opportunities.
