Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Capital Project Manager II in Dayton, OH to independently manage large-scale transmission and infrastructure projects. You will own results from planning through construction, sitting at the core of the PMO and driving capacity, reliability, and long-term system needs.

In this role you will oversee multimillion-dollar capital projects, develop integrated plans, coordinate stakeholders, and lead procurement and cost tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA/Master's preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience managing capital construction projects.
• Experience with SAP and Oracle P6 is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage multimillion-dollar capital projects ($5M–$50M+) with full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, cash flows, and risk registers.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure milestones and outages are executed safely and on time.
• Lead procurement planning, scope development, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
• Track and forecast project costs; provide detailed monthly reporting for PMO and leadership.
• Identify risks early and drive mitigation strategies.
• Support mentoring and development of junior PMs.
• Participate in PMO process improvement and lessons learned initiatives.

Utility & Infrastructure (Project Manager II)

Location: Dayton, OH (Service Building) Work Model: Primarily inperson; occasional weekends/irregular hours as needed

About the Role

What We're Looking For

• 3-7 years of experience managing capital construction projects.
• Utility, infrastructure, or data center experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• PMP preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Oracle P6 strongly desired.
