Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Project Manager 1 to provide overall direction for a project or portion of a larger project. You will implement operations, lead client relations, manage the preconstruction and buyout processes, and oversee submittals and scheduling.

The role emphasizes strong safety leadership, Lean principles in scheduling, and collaboration with design teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure project success and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years construction management experience.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Willing to work non-traditional hours and possible travel/relocation.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).

Responsibilities

• Leads all aspects of the project’s safety culture and compliance.
• Manages the preconstruction and buyout processes, including schedule development.
• Coordinates subcontractor pricing, change orders and submittals.
• Prepares and executes project schedule with lean principles.
• Provides regular project status and profitability reporting.
• Leads monthly project reviews and owner-architect meetings.
