Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2+ years in construction project coordination, preferably utility infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with utility standards and safety protocols (OSHA, DOT).
  • Experience with project management software (Primavera, Procore) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning and scheduling construction activities related to Utility construction projects.
  • Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility clients to support daily operations.
  • Monitor project progress, budget status, and timelines; report variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, permits, change orders, and daily reports.
  • Help manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to job sites.
  • Support compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Perform quality control inspections and assist with punch list development and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with cost tracking, billing, and preparation of project invoices.
  • Track project performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) to assess cost and schedule variances and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Prepare and present financial and performance reports, including cost-to-complete and earned value metrics.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
    • 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination, preferably in utility infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with utility standards, NESC/NESC codes, and safety protocols (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore, or similar) a plus.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience working with investor-owned utilities or municipal power companies.
    • Knowledge of permitting processes, easement coordination, and utility relocation.
    • PMP, OSHA 30, or other relevant certifications a plus.
