Job summary

Henkels & McCoy, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Project Manager to support planning, execution, and delivery of power utility construction projects. You will assist with coordination, resource management, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects meet timelines, scope, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction project coordination, familiarity with NESC codes, and proficiency with MS Office; Primavera/Procore a plus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in CM or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination.
  • Familiarity with NESC/NESC codes and safety protocols (OSHA, DOT).
  • Proficient with MS Office; Primavera/Procore or similar PM software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage planning and scheduling construction activities.
  • Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility clients.
  • Monitor progress, budget status, and timelines; report variances and corrective actions.
  • Maintain project documentation including contracts, permits, change orders, and daily reports.
  • Assist with procurement of materials and timely delivery to sites.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Attend meetings and provide updates to teams and stakeholders.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and support closeout documentation.
  • Assist with cost tracking, billing, and invoicing.
  • Track performance using Earned Value Management (EVM) for cost/schedule variances.
  • Prepare and present financial and performance reports including cost-to-complete.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivatedProject Managerto support the planning, execution, and delivery of power utility construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist with project coordination, resource management, and communication with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage planning and scheduling construction activities related to Utility construction projects
  • Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and utility clients to support daily operations.
  • Monitor project progress, budget status, and timelines; report on variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including contracts, permits, change orders, and daily reports.
  • Help manage procurement of materials and ensure timely delivery to job sites.
  • Support compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Perform quality control inspections and assist with punch list development and closeout documentation.
  • Assist with cost tracking, billing, and preparation of project invoices.
  • Track project performance usingEarned Value Management (EVM)principles to assess cost and schedule variances and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Prepare and present financial and performance reports, including cost-to-complete and earned value metrics.
Qualifications
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
    • 2+ years of experience in construction project coordination, preferably in utility infrastructure.
    • Familiarity with utility standards, NESC/NESC codes, and safety protocols (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, Procore, or similar) a plus.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience working with investor-owned utilities or municipal power companies.
    • Knowledge of permitting processes, easement coordination, and utility relocation.
    • PMP, OSHA 30, or other relevant certifications a plus.
