Job description

Just Construction is partnered with a highly respected General Contractor in South Florida that is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team and take a leading role on a major historic restoration project in Coral Gables.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with proven experience working on historic buildings, restoration, renovation, and complex occupied projects. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects valued at $40M+ and be comfortable overseeing the project from preconstruction through completion.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall management and execution of a major historic restoration project in Coral Gables.
  • Manage the project from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and contractual requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Manage project budgets, commitments, buyout, change orders, billing, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules while identifying potential delays and implementing corrective measures.
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate construction activities across multiple trades and ensure work is progressing in accordance with project requirements.
  • Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders and provide regular updates on project progress and financial performance.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, project specifications, safety requirements, and historic preservation standards.
  • Assist with resolving field and contractual issues while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Lead project closeout, punch list, commissioning, turnover, and warranty activities.
Qualifications
  • 4–6+ years of Project Management experience within commercial construction.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Required Skills
  • Proven experience with historic restoration, renovation, or remodel projects.
  • Experience managing projects valued at $40M+.
  • Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, contracts, subcontractor management, and client relations.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate complex construction activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with common construction project management software and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Skills
  • Historic preservation or restoration projects.
  • Complex renovation projects involving existing/occupied structures.
  • Experience working with architects, preservation consultants, municipalities, and regulatory authorities.
