Job description

Gritter Francona, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to support the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Information Technology Committee (ITC) through Strategic Investment Management Support Services (SIMSS). The Project Manager will provide project management, governance analysis, committee coordination, and meeting facilitation support to the ITC federal lead, helping the committee assess enterprise health information technology priorities and advance its work.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in strategic assessment of enterprise‑level health IT portfolios, providing insight that drives long‑term organizational planning, resource prioritization, and coordinated governance action. They possess a comprehensive understanding of VA and VHA governance structures, policies, and procedures, applying this knowledge to oversee complex enterprise health technology initiatives and lead governance secretariat functions. The role requires exceptional executive communication skills, with demonstrated success briefing high‑level committees, engaging senior VA leaders, and collaborating across interdisciplinary and external partners. The candidate also serves as a trusted advisor, delivering senior‑level analysis and coordination support to VHA IT governance bodies to ensure effective oversight, informed decision‑making, and alignment with organizational priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage ITC support activities, maintaining work plans, meeting calendars, milestones, and deliverable schedules aligned with priorities established by the federal lead.
  • Coordinate the full meeting cycle for executive committee and supporting workgroup sessions, including agenda development, topic intake, presenter preparation, materials review, and distribution through government-approved processes.
  • Facilitate committee and workgroup meetings as assigned, using approved agendas to guide discussion, manage time, clarify action items, and surface issues requiring government direction.
  • Plan and coordinate virtual, hybrid, and in-person meetings, including stakeholder scheduling, logistics, technology checks, rehearsals, and contingency arrangements.
  • Conduct research and analysis on enterprise health IT portfolios, investment priorities, and governance issues; synthesize findings, dependencies, risks, and options for federal review.
  • Develop executive briefings, presentations, issue papers, and status reports that clearly explain complex information, strategic alignment, and matters requiring committee consideration.
  • Prepare accurate meeting summaries and draft decision records; maintain action and decision trackers, confirm action owners and due dates, and follow up on commitments.
  • Coordinate inputs across senior advisors, program offices, subject matter experts, and interdisciplinary stakeholders; identify competing priorities and elevate unresolved matters to the federal lead.
  • Monitor progress, risks, and dependencies across committee activities; anticipate preparation gaps, recommend corrective actions, and promptly elevate threats to deadlines or deliverable quality.
  • Maintain committee documentation, governance artifacts, and version‑controlled records in designated government repositories; apply established review, accessibility, and document management requirements.
  • Support implementation of government‑approved improvements to committee workflows, reporting, and stakeholder communication; track resulting actions and recommend further refinements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including project management, strategic planning or management analysis, and support to governance bodies or executive committees within the healthcare or government sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the full meeting cycle and facilitate discussions involving senior stakeholders, with thorough preparation and consistent follow‑through to enable effective decision‑making.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions and workshops with VHA and VA senior leadership.
  • Experience developing executive briefings, analytical reports, meeting documentation, and recommendations from complex or incomplete information.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder coordination skills, including the ability to identify risks and reconcile inputs across competing priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with tact and sound judgment when engaging senior leaders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments and deadlines, recognize when guidance is needed, and proactively communicate status and issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Microsoft Teams and SharePoint; and project management and action‑tracking tools.
  • Occasional travel is required to support ITC meetings and related activities.
Preferred Qualifications
