Job summary

Vertiv’s Global Strategic Account (GSA) organization is seeking a Project Manager to lead national data center and critical infrastructure projects across thermal, power, battery, and monitoring product lines. This role focuses on building relationships from pre-sales to commissioning while implementing repeatable processes.

Strong communication with multiple organizations and active use of Oracle, Smartsheet, and Power BI are required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of project management experience in critical infrastructure, UPS, thermal, battery or monitoring is a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction, electrical and mechanical contracting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize standard Project Management tools to conduct the project effectively, achieving quality, financial and schedule targets.
  • Define and obtain the appropriate resources required to fulfill the project scope of work; develop the project organizational resource chart.
  • Coordinate with order management, plant production, logistics, contractors, services, and warranty groups throughout the project; escalate conflicts to avoid impact to the customer.
  • Work with jobsite and field resources to communicate schedule, budget, and scope; visit sites to build relationships with key personnel.
  • Escalate and manage issues to ensure timely resolution and stakeholder communication; conduct effective meetings and presentations.
  • Follow reporting and tracking programs to keep projects on target for quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Be responsible for financial performance on assigned projects; create cost budgets and track spend to maintain margins.
  • Promote a culture of safety; host periodic safety meetings on each project.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Utilize standard Project Management tools to conduct the project effectively, achieving quality, financial and schedule targets.

  • Define and obtain the appropriate resources required to fulfill the project scope of work. Work with all functional group leaders to develop the project organizational resource chart.

  • Coordinate with order management, plant production, logistics, contractors, services, and warranty groups throughout the project, escalating potential conflicts to avoid impact to the customer.

  • Work closely with the jobsite and field resources to ensure understanding and communication of the schedule, budget, and scope. Visit the site periodically to establish relationships with key contractor and customer personnel.

  • Escalate and create urgency around any issues that would impede the success of the project. Ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner and communicated to the stakeholders. Must have ability to communicate effectively, including conducting effective meetings and presentations.

  • Follow reporting and tracking programs to assure the project is on target for quality, schedule, and cost targets.

  • Responsible for the financial performance on assigned projects. Must be able to create cost budget, track and investigate spend and maintain established margins on project.

  • Be proactive in establishing a culture of Safety for each project. Host periodic safety meetings to ensure the project is always considering safety first.


MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • 3 to 5 years of project management experience, critical infrastructure expertise with UPS, thermal, battery and monitoring is a plus.

  • Knowledge of construction, electrical and mechanical contracting.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree or equivalent experience.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing processes, data center infrastructure and commissioning processes is helpful.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

The anticipated salary range for this role in the Virginia locality is between $90,000 to $120,000 per year — salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to receive and/or participate in profit sharing, allowances, travel and/or car expenses, and earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization depending on the terms of the employee’s role and individual offer details. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and competitive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, disability, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process.
