Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical in Richmond, Virginia seeks a Fire Alarm Project Manager to oversee the fire alarm scope across multiple projects, from planning to turnover.

You will coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and authorities to ensure compliance with design specifications, code requirements, and schedules. The role includes managing from preconstruction through final commissioning and regular interface with the PM Team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of fire alarm project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems: Fire Alarm, DAS, Access Control, and Building Management Systems.
• Experience managing all phases of fire alarm installation including submittals, procurement, installation oversight, testing, and turnover.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and NFPA references (NFPA 70, 72, 101).
• Experience coordinating with local inspectors and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
• Proficient with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project or equivalent.
• NICET Level II or higher preferred; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong leadership and organization.
• Ability to travel to project sites; pass background and MVR checks when required.

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the fire alarm scope across multiple projects, including planning, submittals, procurement, installation, testing, and turnover. Ensures compliance with applicable codes, project schedules, and safety standards, while serving as the primary point of contact for all fire alarm-related execution across job sites.

• Experience coordinating with local inspectors and Authorities having jurisdiction
• Proficient in construction documentation and scheduling tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or equivalent
• NICET Level II certification or higher preferred
• OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities
• Ability to travel as needed
• Successfully pass pre-employment background check and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles
