Job summary

IES Commercial, Inc. – DBA IES Electrical, in Richmond, Virginia, seeks a Fire Alarm Project Manager to lead installation, testing, and turnover of fire alarm systems across multiple projects. You will ensure adherence to NFPA standards and AHJ requirements while coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and authorities.

Travel to project sites is required. The ideal candidate has strong communication, leadership skills, and a minimum of five years in fire alarm project

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of fire alarm project management experience.
• Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems including Fire Alarm, DAS, Access Control, and Building Management Systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and NFPA references.
• Experience coordinating with local inspectors and Authorities having jurisdiction.
• Proficient in construction documentation and scheduling tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or equivalent.
• NICET Level II certification or higher preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel.
• Pass pre-employment background check and MVR check when operating motor vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage fire alarm system installation for projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and authorities to ensure compliance with design specifications, code requirements, and schedule expectations.
• Manage the fire alarm scope from preconstruction through final commissioning.
• Interface with the Project Management Team to track progress, resolve issues, and maintain alignment with project goals.
• Ensure all work adheres to NFPA standards, local AHJ requirements, and IES safety policies.
• Travel to project sites as needed.
