Job summary

Commence, headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA, is seeking a Project Manager to run day-to-day client programs with a hands-on approach. You will drive scope, schedule, cost, and quality from kickoff through closeout, managing multiple projects at once and delivering leadership visibility.

This in-office role requires self-direction, strong cost/schedule discipline, and the ability to partner with Technical Delivery Managers to keep delivery aligned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably in federal, state and local government, healthcare, or commercial sectors.
• Self-directed and hands-on; able to run several projects at once with light oversight.
• Demonstrated command of project cost and schedule and able to read a project financially.
• Experience supporting CPFF, T&M, and Fixed-Price contracts.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with data-driven decision-making.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor projects end to end using established PM methodologies.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, issues, and stakeholders across project lifecycle.
• Partner with Technical Delivery Managers to align client work with technical execution.
• Maintain current view of project status and surface issues early to leadership and client.
• Identify and resolve issues early; implement corrective actions before they reach the client.
• Prepare and present project status reports and dashboards to stakeholders.
