Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (FMP) in Idaho Falls is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead construction projects at the Naval Reactors Facility. You will define scope, plan, and execute major initiatives, build the project team, secure resources, and manage costs, schedules, changes, and subcontractors to meet objectives.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 9+ years of relevant experience, PM certification, and strong Excel/Power BI capabilities.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our construction team assisting in the project management of major construction projects at the Naval Reactors Facility!

The successful candidate with be responsible for managing construction projects and project teams that support improvement projects for the Naval Reactors Facility including defining, planning, and ensuring execution of all tasks necessary to meet project objectives. Specific responsibilities include creating and maintaining the project team infrastructure, obtaining necessary resources to support the project, defining project scope and work breakdown structure, developing cost estimates and resources loaded schedules, evaluating change requests and approving or rejecting as appropriate, managing overall costs to budget, managing subcontracted relationships, identifying and mitigating project risks, interfacing with and integrating the efforts of stakeholders, support personnel and line management to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Other areas of opportunity include, but are not limited to, assess project or program performance, coordinate, support and facilitate project / process meetings, support the preparation & presentation of periodic reviews with management and stakeholders, recommend resources or skills needed to supplement project core team, provide support to new and existing contracts, projects and programs, coordinate, and mentor / train project team members, stakeholders & jr. project support personnel.

Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills
  • Project Management Certification (NNL PMCP, PMI, or IBM)
  • Experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word, Share Point, Teams, and Power BI software
  • Experience with construction projects and / or production support operations

Pay Range

$106,200.00 - $166,000.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense‑owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world‑class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
