Job summary

Pinnacle, an experiential marketing house in Morgan Hill, CA, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee diverse tradeshow, event, and activation projects. You will coordinate engineering solutions, crews, schedules, and vendor partnerships to deliver creative experiential builds on tight timelines.

You’ll bring 5+ years in project or production management, strong knowledge of the exhibit industry, and hands-on experience with fabrication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in project management, production management or as a producer.
• Extensive exhibit or event industry knowledge.
• Experience with woodworking and metal fabrication.
• Engineering/technical mindset to solve complex challenges.
• Knowledge of fabrication tools and blueprints.
• Strong written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and influence project members toward client goals.
• Experience managing budgets and change orders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP, and PM software.
• Familiarity with Autodesk tools is a plus.
• College degree preferred.

The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager in our Morgan Hill, CA facility. Our PMs manage multiple projects with a wide range of scope and deliverables. Projects include tradeshow, events, activations, permanent installations, all kinds of experiential work. They provide engineering solutions and help figure out ways to meet a challenge like, “How are we gonna build a windmill for this activation in seven days?”

What You’ll Do

• Work with project teams to provide value engineering solutions, specify material, hardware, electrical/lighting specifications and building techniques. You get the design, the estimate and the details and you make it happen!
• Move projects through their timeline, budget, and deliverables. Get to YES!
• Create and maintain a flexible and evolving production schedule and overall project budget
• Maintain work orders through lifecycle of project for accuracy, intended expectation, execution and final quality assurance
• Create and maintain change orders, keep all documentation in order
• Facilitate and host meetings with project teams, act as information liaison between all team members
• Develop a robust external vendor network
• Manage external vendors; provide drawings, check quality, manage output and schedules
• Travel for on-site inspection and supervision as needed

Who You Are

• Minimum of 5 years of work experience in project management, production management, or as a producer
• Extensive knowledge of exhibit or event industry
• Experience with woodworking and metal fabrication
• Engineering/technical mind that can provide solutions to wacky challenges
• Knowledge of standard fabrication tools and techniques and blueprints
• An extensive vendor network or the ability to build one and experience sourcing and managing vendors; experience as a vendor in wood, metal, fabrication helpful
• Strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead and positively influence all project members towards client goals
• Experience managing budgets and change order process
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP, various collaboration and PM software and techniques
• Ability to multitask and problem solve at a high level
• Familiarity with the current Autodesk suite of programs is ideal
• College degree preferred
• Flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines
• Able to travel for client presentation, site surveys, show site installation
