Job summary

A&K Earth Movers Inc. seeks a skilled Estimator/Project Manager for heavy civil work in Sparks, NV. You will prepare take-offs, estimates, and bid documents while coordinating with contract admins and field teams to ensure timely submissions and accurate costing.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience, leadership and communication strengths, and proficiency with HCSS software and MS Office. This role entails safety participation and cost forecasting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive responsibilities in heavy civil construction.
• Experience preparing estimates, bids, and reviewing contract documents.
• Ability to manage submittals, purchasing, billing, forecasting cost, and field support.
• Ability to build relationships with owners and clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Take-offs and Estimates.
• Provide all information to Contract Administrator for processing.
• Provide all submittals as required.
• Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.
• Manage cost and forecasting, review with management and Superintendent.
• Build and update project schedules.
• Estimate, prepare and manage change orders.

Job description

• Prepare thorough, accurate and timely estimates for earthwork, underground utilities, grading, paving, concrete, both flatwork and structural for public agencies and private developers. Review and complete all bid documents, proposals.
• Responsible for management of projects bid and or assigned, to include contract review, submittals, purchasing, billing, forecasting cost, oversight and support of field personnel, building relationships with owners and clients.
