Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a critical mid-level Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation for a nine-month consulting engagement. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving all aspects of the ERP implementation lifecycle, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
The project is for a pharmaceutical company with significant international operations, and would prefer the candidate have experience with both of these areas in a past role.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background managing large-scale ERP projects, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate cross-functional teams through organizational change. This individual will serve as the central point of coordination between business stakeholders, executive leadership, functional teams, implementation partners, and technical resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management activities for the ERP implementation.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate activities across functional areas including Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
- Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committee updates, and executive status reporting.
- Track project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed in accordance with agreed-upon timelines and quality standards.
- Manage relationships with ERP vendors, system integrators, and third-party consultants.
- Oversee data migration, system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), training, and go-live activities.
- Drive organizational change management efforts and user adoption initiatives.
- Monitor project budgets and resource utilization.
- Escalate critical issues and provide recommendations to leadership when appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and documentation standards.
- Support post-go-live stabilization activities and transition to operational teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of project management experience leading enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
- Proven experience leading at least one full-cycle ERP implementation.
- Strong understanding of ERP business processes across finance, operations, procurement, inventory, and reporting functions.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and external implementation partners.
- Strong project planning and scheduling experience using project management tools.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with risk management, issue resolution, and executive reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing ERP platforms such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Infor, Workday, or Epicor.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or Scrum certification.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, professional services, higher education, or other complex operating environments.
- Prior consulting or implementation partner experience.
- Experience managing data conversion, integrations, and change management initiatives.
During this engagement, the Project Manager will be expected to:
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive ERP project plan.
- Deliver executive and steering committee status reporting.
- Successfully coordinate system design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Manage project risks and issue logs proactively.
- Ensure successful user training and adoption.
- Support ERP go-live and stabilization efforts.
- Deliver project closure documentation and transition plans.
