Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Project Manager, Equipment to oversee equipment projects in Maitland, FL or Fort Myers, FL, handling administrative and financial tasks while collaborating with internal and external customers. The role sits in-office, with no site travel required.

The ideal candidate will manage scope, schedule, and budget, possess strong communication and multitasking skills, and have finance/budgeting experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or business management; 3-5 years in PM or construction PM preferred.
  • Experience with construction aspects including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.
  • Strong financial management and budgeting background required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software and ability to learn proprietary systems quickly.

Responsibilities

  • Review project schedules to meet customer requirements and track status.
  • Coordinate equipment, controls, services, and pricing for each project.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and resolve scope deviations with the team.
  • Maintain forecasted cost at completion and update as needed.
  • Create and revise project schedules, tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Manage procurement: material/vendor orders and payments processing.
  • Generate equipment orders and issue purchase orders to vendors.
  • Create work orders for equipment start-ups and track progress.
  • Oversee cash flow: invoicing, collections support, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with customers, warehouses, and claims on freight issues.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and drive corrective actions; assist warranty transition.

Job Summary

Trane has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as Project Manager, Equipment in our Maitland, FL or Fort Myers, FL Commercial Sales Office. You will manage all aspects of equipment projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while working with a team to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. Trane always focuses on a total solution to provide our customers with the most energy efficient buildings!

Please Note: This is not a traditional Construction Project Manager position. It is not a technical position, but administrative and financial in nature. You would be managing the daily tasks of given projects working closely with internal and external customers. This position sits in-office, and does not entail travel to job sites or to customers.

You will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of projects and accountable for assigned project’s scope of work, schedule, and budget. Must have great communication skills, organizational skills, follow up and strong ability to multitask on different tasks and computer systems. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, will have a strong sense of urgency, and learn quickly through hands on/job shadow training with ability to learn in a fast paced, high volume environment. Experience in financial management/project budgeting required. Construction industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Performs construction schedule review to meet customer requirements. Generates ship status reports to provide detail of product lead times and overall project status.
  • Coordinates selection, pricing, & integrates equipment, controls, & services for each project.
  • Responsible for creating detailed cost estimates. Resolves major deviations from scope w/ team after Project Scope Validation.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.
  • Creates & makes revisions to project schedules including: generating tasks, estimates, dependencies; & milestones.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Trane material & vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials & approving payments.
  • Responsible for entering equipment orders & issuing purchase orders for vendor orders.
  • Generates work orders for equipment start-ups.
  • Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support & monitoring, & resource management.
  • Responsible for working with customers, warehouses and claims to handle freight damaged equipment or missing freight.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, & communicating w/ customers & assigned staff.
  • Responsible for the successful transition of warranty to the service process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or business management with 3-5 years of experience in project management or construction management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems and temperature controls.
  • Financial management/Budgeting background required.
  • Experience with Microsoft software, Teams and ability to quickly learn proprietary software.
