Qualifications

  • 5+ years of environmental remediation or field operations experience.
  • Experience with remediation systems and field-based project execution.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and travel 15–30% (US, possible international).
  • OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper training required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coordination and execution of remediation projects from planning to closeout.
  • Serve as primary client contact, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and manage deliverables: cost estimates, proposals, schedules, and bids.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors for compliant execution.
  • Execute in-situ and ex-situ remediation using chemical oxidation, bioremediation, and supporting technologies.
  • Support field operations: system installation, injection activities, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety plans, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Supervise field personnel for safe, high-quality execution.
  • Conduct and support laboratory testing and treatability studies for design optimization.
  • Interpret field/lab data to evaluate performance and inform decisions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment for field deployment readiness.
  • Coordinate logistics, materials, and inventory for project delivery.
  • Identify operational challenges and drive continuous improvement.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Project Manager/Environmental Technicianat our Verona, Wisconsin location to support the delivery of environmental remediation projects and field operations. The Project Manager/Environmental Technician is responsible for managing projects from planning through implementation, while contributing to hands-on field execution and system support. Responsibilities include client coordination, field oversight, laboratory support, and equipment maintenance to ensure successful project execution and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. While VIYA offers a range of remediation approaches, this position is primarily focused on chemical oxidation and bioremediation applications, along with supporting thermal remediation systems in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead coordination and execution of remediation projects across planning, design, field deployment, and closeout.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, supporting clear communication, alignment, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and manage project deliverables, including cost estimates, proposals, schedules, and contractor bid packages.
  • Coordinate with project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient and compliant project execution.
  • Execute in-situ and ex-situ remediation applications using a range of treatment chemistries and technologies.
  • Support field operations, including system installation, injection activities, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety plans, regulatory requirements, and quality standards across all activities.
  • Support supervision and coordination of field personnel to drive safe, high-quality execution.
  • Conduct and support laboratory testing and treatability studies to inform project design and optimization.
  • Interpret field and laboratory data to evaluate system performance and support technical decision-making.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and prepare specialized equipment to ensure readiness for field deployment.
  • Coordinate logistics, materials, and inventory to support efficient project delivery.
  • Identify operational challenges and contribute to continuous improvement in field execution and technical approaches.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental remediation, field operations, or related technical role.
  • Demonstrated experience with remediation systems,chemical applications, andfield-based project execution.
  • Track record of delivering projects with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and client outcomes in a dynamic, execution-focused environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and perform field work in physically demanding situations.
  • Will need to obtain OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper training.
  • Driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites (15%–30% of the time), primarily in the US but could potentially be international. Must hold (or able to obtain) passport for work-related travel.
