Job Title: Project Manager – Engineering, Procurement, Construction, O&M

Location: Central Oregon or Denver, CO

Job Overview

The Project Manager will oversee and lead projects, supporting consulting, EPC, and O&M initiatives. The role emphasizes safety, quality, budget adherence, and timely completion. The candidate should apply sound management and engineering principles, collaborate across disciplines, and communicate effectively to navigate uncertainties and optimize project execution.

Reports To

The Project Manager reports to the Director of Projects and collaborates closely to deliver high-quality technical services in the renewable and traditional energy sectors.

This position offers remote work, with a preference for candidates near Central Oregon or the Denver area.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure quality, safety, budget, and schedule adherence for assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, including schedules, budgets, stakeholder lists, responsibilities, and communication plans.
  • Coordinate with project and engineering teams to meet contractual and technical requirements.
  • Provide regular updates on project status and actions.
  • Prioritize deliverables and allocate resources with Engineering Leads.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts and master service agreements with clients and contractors.
  • Lead change order negotiations.
  • Manage client relationships throughout project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate communication among teams, share lessons learned, and promote an open environment for discussing mistakes and near-misses.
  • Conduct project close-out reviews against KPIs.
  • Participate in risk reviews such as PHA, LOPA, HAZOP.
  • Support plant commissioning activities.
  • Strive to improve quality and accuracy in all work.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Business Development, Legal, HR, and IT teams.
  • Apply RACI principles for accountability in special projects.
  • Respond to urgent issues outside normal hours as needed.
  • Travel up to 25% as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years of project management experience in industries such as Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power, Mining, or Manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with project management/scheduling software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and communicate findings clearly.
  • Effective interaction with team members, vendors, and clients.
  • Quick learner adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Over 3 years of experience managing EPC projects valued between $10MM and $50MM.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or progress towards it.
  • Professional Engineer’s license or progress towards one.
