Job summary

ONEOK is seeking an experienced engineer with project management skills to support refined products and crude oil assets. You will participate in design, procurement, construction, and optimization across pipelines, storage terminals, and related facilities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5–12 years in an engineering-related, project‑driven capacity, with proficiency in Excel, Project, Access and Word. FE/PE not required but preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5–12 years of engineering-related experience with project management preferred.
  • Experience with pipeline or storage systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering/project management tasks for design, procurement, construction or optimization of assets.
  • Manage terminal storage operations including tanks, pumps, piping and loading/unloading.
  • Develop construction plans and manage third‑party resources.
  • Provide technical assistance on equipment design, pipeline sizing, and process safety.
  • Support bids, contracts, cost management, and change order processes.
  • Conduct hydraulic calculations and evaluate measurement systems.
  • Compile engineering studies, cost estimates and material specs.
  • Recommend asset improvements for capacity, cost, operability and safety.

Job Summary

Performs engineering and/or project management duties related to refined products and crude oil assets.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Perform and support engineering and/or project management activities related to the design, procurement, construction, or optimization of company assets including liquid pipelines, storage terminals, pump stations, and measurement.
  • Manage terminal storage operations, including above‑ground storage tanks, transfer pumps, manifolds, vapor recovery, truck loading/unloading, marine vessel loading/unloading, gas‑liquid, and liquid piping.
  • Develop construction plans and implement management of third‑party contract resources.
  • Provide technical and engineering assistance on matters such as equipment/system design, pipeline sizing and evaluation, pipeline control, facility design, construction, operation, maintenance, policies, procedures, and process safety.
  • Support project management activities including bid proposals, contracts, AFE preparation, cost management, management of change (MOC), material/equipment specifications and selection, construction plans, scheduling, progress reporting, and change order management.
  • Identify equipment efficiencies, complete hydraulic calculations, determine valve and pipeline sizing, and perform engineering analysis.
  • Research, compile, and prepare information such as engineering studies, governmental rules and regulations, codes and standards, pipeline and measurement system analyses, hydrocarbon processing and measurement bid proposals, construction and measurement contracts, cost estimates, and material specifications.
  • Provide recommendations for asset improvements related to capacity, operating costs, operability, process safety, and environmental compliance for leadership approval.
  • Evaluate measurement system designs and recommend improvements to station capacity, operating costs, and accuracy of downstream reporting systems.
  • Conduct economic analyses for potential new projects, including operational cost estimates, equipment efficiencies, enhancements, and preliminary acquisition studies.
  • Assist in the implementation of new processes.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and 5–12 years of experience in an engineering‑related role with project management. Preferred experience includes engineering design and knowledge of criteria for pipeline or storage systems, operations or project management, and use of Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, and other relevant applications. Experience researching and preparing project materials, design specifications, contracts, budgets, engineering studies, and related reports is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of pipelines and/or hydrocarbon processing and related facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, load studies, and other reports.
  • Strong prioritization and time‑management skills to handle competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency in applying math, algebraic formulas, and statistical methods.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Operational competence with office tools and equipment.
  • Effective written communication for technical and non‑technical audiences.
Licenses and Certifications

None required; FE/EIT or PE preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Employee performs mostly sedentary work with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 10 pounds. Work may involve walking, standing, and travel to other locations. Typical work environments include well‑lit, climate‑controlled areas. Frequent repetitive motions, computer use, and travel are expected.
