Job Responsibilities and Requirements
Project Manager

Position Objective: The Project Manager must have the ability to consistently deliver high-quality work, be attentive to detail and actively problem solve throughout the entire construction process in all regions.The Project Manager is responsible for planning for the installation of shingle, low slope, standing seam metal roofs and wall metal system projects in adherence with the specifications outlined, in compliance with scheduling constraints, and within the budget established. This role will also support the service department in a mid-level management capacity, ensuring all service operations run smoothly.

Job Functions:
  • Manage assigned jobs and field personnel in the DFW region and others as needed.
  • Track warehouse inventory utilized by field staff and provide updates to the Project Coordinator.
  • Establish and monitor budgets by daily productivity metrics; review and adjust weekly to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Maintain and update labor schedules, including a one-week look-ahead plan.
  • Manage equipment rentals and budgets to minimize costs while optimizing production.
  • Monitor project backlog and plan for staff and labor needs, including site visits for upcoming projects.
  • Close out projects by scheduling final manufacturer inspections and addressing punch lists.
Customer and Vendor Relations:
  • Build and maintain relationships with local vendors and manufacturers to meet project needs effectively.
  • Finalize labor selections based on cost, service, and delivery metrics.
  • Regularly check in with customers to ensure satisfaction and discuss future opportunities.
Project Coordination and Reporting:
  • Attend and lead Operations Handoff meetings and project handoff sessions with field staff and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site walks with general contractors, staff, and labor to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings with general contractor staff.
  • Complete timely reporting, including subcontractor payroll, Paylocity payroll, credit card reports, work-in-progress updates, QuickBase checklists, daily reports, and photos.
  • Update projected start and end dates weekly on the QuickBase Operations dashboard.
  • Provide weekly project updates to the Director of Operations, covering material availability, RFIs, change orders, and other pending issues.
Leak Call Management:
  • Review leak call notifications, including contact information, site procedures, and urgency levels.
  • Coordinate prompt crew responses and scheduling.
  • Ensure proper job safety analysis (JSA) and necessary paperwork for jobs exceeding five hours.
  • Oversee the quality of leak repairs and update the Service Software (CenterPoint Connect).
Weekly Crew Scheduling
  • Schedule leak reports within 24 hours and maintain a detailed weekly crew schedule.
  • Ensure all paperwork, materials, and safety gear are prepared before dispatching crews.
  • Maintain communication with crew leads and provide customers with regular status updates.
Training and Development:
  • Assist in hiring and training new technicians in roofing repairs, customer communication, and Service Software usage.
  • Mentor and coach project teams to develop their skills and capabilities.
  • Motivate, lead, train, and inspire staff to achieve excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Encourage staff to expand their skillsets and prepare for advancement within the organization.
Service Documentation:
  • Ensure all job paperwork is completed, including service tickets, checklists, material transfers, photos, and time records.
  • Oversee the submission of weekly and monthly crew paperwork, including time logs, vehicle inventories, and toolbox talks.
Additional Duties:
  • Generate service tickets, maintain vehicle cleanliness, manage inventory, and supervise and hire crews as needed.
  • Conduct safety and quality inspections, handle customer communications, and monitor project budgets.
  • Approve timesheets, oversee vehicle stock, and ensure compliance with all operational protocols.
  • Participate in meetings, assist with job scoping, and ensure proper project documentation is maintained.
  • Respond to calls and emails after hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Standard office hours are 7 AM to 4 PM, with occasional overtime required for fieldwork.
