Job summary

System One is seeking an experienced Project Manager -- Data Center in Charlotte, NC to lead large-scale electrical construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This onsite role requires coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.

You will review drawings and contracts, manage RFIs/submittals, procure materials, and drive safety and changes.

Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of project management experience in mission-critical electrical construction, preferably data centers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent construction experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction and field operations.
  • Experience with project budgeting, cost tracking, scheduling, and change orders.
  • Ability to review construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong subcontractor and vendor management skills.
  • Leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Experience with financial and construction software, including Spectrum or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bluebeam Revu, and scheduling/estimating software.
  • Work environment includes both office and active construction sites, requiring safety compliance and physical navigation of sites.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple electrical construction projects, ensuring performance, schedule, budget, labor, and profitability.
  • Coordinate project meetings and communicate regularly with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Resolve construction challenges and coordinate field installation activities.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Establish project budgets and schedules, review estimates, and assist with project setup.
  • Procure major electrical materials and coordinate subcontractor scopes and procurement.
  • Coordinate with BIM/VDC teams on project planning and execution, review drawings for quality control.
  • Develop and maintain project prefabrication plans and coordinate logistics and delivery.
  • Create and update project schedules, monitor project milestones, and coordinate workforce planning.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, scope of work, and billing processes.
  • Support safety and quality control plans, ensure compliance with safety standards, and monitor code adherence.
  • Track project costs, manage change orders, and prepare project progress reports.
  • Develop strong relationships with project stakeholders, including owners, general contractors, vendors, and trade partners.
