Nature and Scope of Job

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic cross‑functional initiatives across Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Digital Transformation. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional project management capabilities, strong stakeholder management skills, and experience operating within regulated life sciences environments. Candidate will be interfacing with CEO, CFO and other senior leaders on regular basis so exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills are needed. This role will drive projects from initiation through execution and completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, timelines, budgets, and quality expectations. Experience with GxP systems, cybersecurity programs, website development projects, data analytics platforms, and emerging AI technologies is highly desirable but not required.

The position requires regular collaboration with executive leadership, business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams and will be based onsite in the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area) four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple concurrent projects and programs across IT, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, and Business Operations.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, risk registers, and communication plans.
  • Drive project execution while managing scope, timeline, budget, dependencies, risks, and issues.
  • Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, and executive status updates.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, IT, vendors, consultants, and third‑party partners.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
Cybersecurity & Identity Management (MUST)
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure cybersecurity requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution.
  • Manage projects involving Identity and Access Management (IAM), including user lifecycle management, role‑based access controls (RBAC), Single Sign‑On (SSO), Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA), Privileged Access Management (PAM), and identity governance initiatives.
  • Assist in the implementation of security tools like MDR, EDR, Network Monitoring, AWS Cybersecurity build outs etc., controls, policies, and processes that strengthen the organization’s overall security posture.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and managed service providers to support cybersecurity and identity‑related programs.
  • Monitor project risks associated with information security and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are identified and executed.
  • Support website redesign, development, migration, and digital experience initiatives. (Preferred)

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of project management experience leading complex cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Proven track record managing enterprise technology and business transformation projects.
  • Strong expertise in project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid approaches.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing project budgets, timelines, risks, dependencies, and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Monday.com, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of GxP, Computer System Validation (CSV), 21 CFR Part 11, and regulated system implementations.
  • Experience managing cybersecurity projects such as security assessments, identity management, endpoint security, cloud security, vulnerability management, or compliance initiatives.
  • Experience delivering data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data warehouse, or AI‑related initiatives.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • CISSP, PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master, or equivalent certifications preferred.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.

Compensation

Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 80.00 - 90.00

The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDM’s compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.

Full‑time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long‑term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage.

Both full and part‑time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM’s 401k plan. Full and part‑time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
