Factory NYC in Brooklyn seeks a Project Manager to lead the design and fabrication of diverse projects, bridging clients, shop, design, and installation.

You will manage schedules, coordinate vendors, supervise in-house fabrication, source materials, procure samples, ensure quality, and keep budgets and timelines on track across client teams. This hands-on role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Design, or Art-related fields preferred.
  • Experience in fabrication or construction industry.
  • 5 years of technical fabrication/design experience with at least 3 years direct and 2 years indirect experience in a project management environment.
  • Ability to read and redline technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite; Rhino3D experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented abilities; ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent client communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing new projects from the time of sale until their completion.
  • Daily communications with multiple clients on various projects.
  • Maintaining project scheduling through consistent and timely communication both with clients and departments.
  • Working through details of the construction process with production and drafting to ensure quality and client’s needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Extract, compile, and organize all documents and information pertaining to an event or project, ensuring budgets and proper tracking are being maintained.
  • Oversee in-house fabrication, vendor management, installation, and load-out of all elements within the scope of a project.
  • Sourcing and purchasing materials and coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Procuring samples for the project both outsourced and in-house.
  • Coordinating and managing all project logistics.
  • Keep up with project execution, change orders, and complex potential problems.
  • Managing quality control to meet company standards.
  • Maintaining a positive, goal-driven attitude at all times.
  • Willing to cooperate and communicate with various team members to achieve the best results in all aspects of management.

Our dynamic and rapidly growing Brooklyn-based fabrication shop is looking for a Project Manager to help us execute the design and fabrication of a variety of projects. We specialize in many types of fabrication and installations including experiential events, architectural millworks, custom art pieces, and retail spaces. Our facilities have multiple CNC machines, laser cutters, 3D printers, and wood and metal shops. The current project management team has a variety of backgrounds that help us tackle a wide array of builds.

We’re looking for a creative, interesting, hard-working, and self-motivated manager who is experienced with design, engineering, and fabrication methods. As a Project Manager, we’re looking for you to be the bridge between clients, shop, design, and installation.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Design, or Art-related fields is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of various fabrication methods.
  • Experience in the fabrication or construction industry.
  • 5 years of technical fabrication/design experience with at least 3 years of direct and 2 years of indirect technical experience working with or under Project Managers or a project management environment.
  • Ability to read and redline technical drawings.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and various related software. Rhino3D experience is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments while handling multiple priorities.
  • Must be organized, work efficiently, and have an eye for detail.
  • Experience managing and communicating with clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Must possess proficient oral and written communication and presentation skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people with diverse backgrounds of all levels and disciplines.
