Atlas is seeking a Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead Construction Materials Testing (CMT), Special Inspections, and Field Services for major infrastructure projects in Lakewood, Colorado. The role emphasizes ownership of execution, mentoring technical staff, and advancing client satisfaction while driving financial performance.

You will oversee project delivery from kickoff through closeout, mentor teams, coordinate staffing and resources, and ensure safety and quality per ASTM/ACI/ASHTO/CDOT

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspections, Heavy Civil Construction, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field services.
• Experience leading teams, coordinating field operations, or managing projects.
• Strong knowledge of testing procedures and industry standards such as ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, CDOT.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop technicians, inspectors, and field personnel with a focus on safety and excellence.
• Manage multiple testing and inspection projects from kickoff to closeout.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, workload distribution, and resource planning for project delivery.
• Partner with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to provide responsive service and technical solutions.
• Review and approve testing reports, inspection documents, and deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor project budgets, billing, profitability, and financial performance.
• Prepare scopes, proposals, and cost estimates for new business opportunities.
• Resolve project challenges quickly while maintaining client confidence.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing Special Inspections Heavy Civil Construction Geotechnical Engineering or related field services
• Prior experience leading teams coordinating field operations or managing projects
• Strong knowledge of construction materials testing procedures and industry standards including ASTM ACI AASHTO and CDOT requirements
• Ability to interpret construction plans specifications geotechnical reports and technical documents
• Strong organizational communication and problem solving skills
• Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast paced environment
• Valid drivers license with the ability to support field operations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Construction Management or related discipline
• Professional Engineer PE license or active progression toward licensure
• Experience managing heavy civil transportation roadway bridge waterwastewater or vertical construction projects
• Existing relationships within the Colorado construction and engineering market
