Job summary

Uprite Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial ground up projects in a fast-paced environment. You will manage planning, budgeting, procurement, and execution from award to closeout, ensuring milestones and budgets are met.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of PM experience with a GC, with tilt up experience highly preferred, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Ground up commercial construction experience required; tilt up preferred.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and cost control skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial ground up construction projects from award through final closeout.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, procurement, budgeting, and execution.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to meet milestones and completion dates.
  • Forecast project budgets, cost reports, and financial performance.
  • Review drawings, specs, contracts, and documents for accuracy.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements and purchase orders.
  • Lead project meetings with owners, architects, and subs.
  • Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation.
  • Identify risks early and implement solutions to protect schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate with Superintendents to align field operations.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and company standards are met.
  • Oversee turnover and closeout documentation.

Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, financial performance, and successful delivery of commercial construction projects. This role requires strong experience managing ground up commercial projects, with tilt up construction experience being highly preferred. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, financially minded, and thrives in a fast paced environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage commercial ground up construction projects from award through final closeout
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, procurement, budgeting, and execution
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestone and completion dates are achieved
  • Prepare, manage, and forecast project budgets, cost reports, and financial performance
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements and purchase orders
  • Lead project meetings with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Manage Requests for Information, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Identify project risks early and implement solutions to maintain schedule and budget
  • Partner closely with Superintendents to coordinate field operations and resolve project challenges
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients while providing exceptional customer service
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, company standards, and quality expectations
  • Coordinate successful project turnover and closeout documentation
What You'll Bring:
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Proven experience managing ground up commercial construction projects
  • Tilt up construction experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience managing industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, office, retail, or other commercial projects
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, contracts, and cost control
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through final completion
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar construction software
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
