Project Manager – Commercial Interiors - Houston, TX
A growing national commercial general contractor is looking to add a Project Manager to its Houston team. The company specializes in high-end corporate interiors, tenant improvements, renovations, and complex commercial buildouts for national and regional clients.
The Houston operation is continuing to expand and offers the opportunity to join a well-established national contractor while working within a smaller, growth-oriented local team.
What You’ll Do
- Manage commercial interior and renovation projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Lead projects typically ranging from approximately $2M–$20M+
- Manage subcontractor buyout, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
- Maintain project budgets, forecasts, schedules, and overall financial performance
- Coordinate closely with owners, architects, consultants, property managers, and subcontractors
- Lead OAC meetings and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project
- Partner with field teams to manage schedule, quality, logistics, and project delivery
- Support preconstruction efforts including budgeting, constructability reviews, and value engineering
- Manage multiple projects or fast-paced assignments depending on size and complexity
- Help build long-term relationships within the Houston commercial real estate market
What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years of commercial construction experience
- Previous Project Manager or strong Assistant Project Manager experience
- Experience with commercial interiors, tenant improvements, corporate office, or renovation projects
- Strong understanding of project financials, subcontractor management, and construction documentation
- Experience working in occupied buildings and on fast-track projects is highly preferred
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to independently manage projects from start through completion
- Houston subcontractor and market relationships are a plus
