Job summary

GSM Services is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Project Manager to take ownership of HVAC construction projects throughout the Greater Charlotte area. You will work with Sales, Production, fabrication, field teams and customers to move projects from planning through successful completion.

This role requires 3+ years in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction, the ability to read drawings and specifications, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction project management.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and submittals.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, field coordination, and project documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Technical education in construction/HVAC or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from planning through closeout, including budgets, schedules, manpower, and quality.
• Coordinate between Sales, Production, fabrication, field teams, and customers.
• Review drawings, specifications, field measurements, and project requirements.
• Manage submittals, project documentation, and closeout.
• Oversee long-range scheduling and field resource coordination.
• Ensure project quality and installation accuracy.
• Maintain clear customer communication and manage expectations.
• Track progress using KPIs and provide regular reporting.
• Ensure contract and scope compliance.

GSM Services is looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Project Manager to take ownership of commercial HVAC construction projects throughout the Greater Charlotte area.

This is an opportunity for a strong HVAC or mechanical construction professional who enjoys managing the entire project—not just one piece of it. You'll work closely with our Sales, Production, fabrication, field teams, and customers to move projects from initial planning through successful completion.

Unlike many commercial construction PM positions, our work is primarily local, generally within approximately 50 miles of Charlotte.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail‑oriented Commercial HVAC Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of commercial HVAC construction projects. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, quality standards, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations.

What You'll Own

As a Commercial HVAC Project Manager, you'll manage projects from planning through closeout, including:

• Project budgets, schedules, manpower planning, and performance
• Coordination between Sales, Production, fabrication, field teams, and customers
• Review of drawings, specifications, field measurements, and project requirements
• Submittals, project documentation, and closeout
• Long‑range scheduling and coordination of field resources
• Project quality and installation accuracy
• Customer communication and expectations
• Project progress, KPIs, and reporting
• Contract and scope compliance

What We're Looking For

We're interested in experienced project managers and strong HVAC/mechanical construction professionals ready to take the next step in their careers.

Preferred background:

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC, mechanical construction, or related project management experience
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC construction and installation
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, field coordination, and project documentation
• Comfortable working with project management and scheduling software
• Strong organization, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to build effective relationships with customers and internal teams
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record

Technical education or an associate degree in construction, HVAC, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred, but relevant hands‑on industry experience is equally valuable.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs
• Work outside in various weather conditions for extended periods
• Walk, stand, stoop, or sit for prolonged periods
