Job description

About Bart's Electric

Bart's Electric is a full-service electrical and special-systems contractor known for giving customers more service than they paid for. We're a merit shop built on the idea that we build people: we invest in our team, promote on performance and dedication, and back it up with industry-leading training, certification, and leadership development. Our safety record beats industry averages, and we keep it that way.

Position Summary

We're hiring a Project Manager to own commercial electrical projects in Oklahoma City from start to finish - safely, profitably, and to a standard that exceeds customer expectations. This role reports to the VP of Operations.

What You'll Own
  • Full project lifecycle: Own the schedule, budget, quality, and safety of assigned commercial electrical projects.
  • Financial control from day one: Build detailed project budgets, track expenditures, manage change orders, and protect margin with the same discipline you'd apply to your own money.
  • Monthly manpower forecasting: Project labor needs weeks ahead in collaboration with your foreman/superintendent, so the right crew is on the right job at the right time.
  • Monthly financial projections: Review projections with the VP of Operations, identifying cost trends early and course-correcting before small variances become big problems.
  • Subcontractor scopes and performance: Negotiation, production, submittals, RFIs, and closeout.
  • Documentation: Submittals, RFIs, contract drawings, daily reports, and foreman time approvals.
  • Relationships: Serve as the primary liaison with GCs and suppliers; coach field staff alongside the VP of Operations.
  • Jobsite presence: Conduct regular jobsite walks to verify progress, quality, and safety.
What You Bring
  • 2+ years of construction project management experience, or a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Construction, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage project budgets - you understand cost codes, labor burden, productivity rates, and how field decisions affect the bottom line.
  • Hands-on experience with labor and manpower forecasting - you can translate a project schedule into a staffing plan, anticipate crew needs, and adjust proactively as conditions change.
  • Strong financial acumen - comfortable reading job cost reports, spotting variances, and presenting projections clearly to operations leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam. Viewpoint Spectrum/Vista a plus.
  • Sound, independent decision-making, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication.
  • Construction background required; electrical field experience is a plus, not a must.
